I will be going to Argentina with my husband and trying to find a very romantic hacienda for polo lessons and beach riding, can you please recommend some places like this?
In additon, any ideas on how to get really good seats for the Polo Open on the 5th of December in Buenas Aires?
Hi Lisa. Argentina is a great country, but its beaches are not that great; in fact, I think they are quite poor. Additionally, most of the polo is located inland and/or closer to the river than the ocean. The river is very sediment-rich, which gives it a very lovely shade of brown—not really all that romantic. I think it's impossible to combine a *good* polo experience with a beach experience in Argentina.
I do believe that in Uruguay (which is about as similar to Argentina as northern Belgium is to the Netherlands, and just as close), there is a Punta del Este Polo Club. That city is where many Argentines go for beach vacations and the water is much nicer. Still, I know nothing about it beyond that I've heard that it exists.
There are very nice places with lakes and swimming pools in Argentina, though!
I know lots of people in the polo community and I will ask around a bit. Of course prices will vary considerably depending on how "deluxe" you want the place!

I agree with Mark's comments but still almost everything is possible in Argentina!!!! If you want to enjoy good beaches and polo at the same time, you should go to Pinamar, 300km East of Buenos Aires, you have great beaches with perhaps 80/100 miles of fantastic sand dunes, it is a summer resort for Argentines, there is a golf course, a polo club called La Herradura which is very nice, you can also rent a house there. If you need any help, I know the General Manager very well. The polo field is probably the best field in the world, meaning that it can rain 30/40 inches and you play 15/20 minutes later, it has a great drinage. Next to Pinamar, there is Carilo which is very nice.
Near BA, I can offer you to take a look at our site or even better our photo gallery link, www.estanciaelrocio.com/gallery, where you will be able to taste the atmosphere and services we offer to our guests. We have polo lessons and clinics, riding, swiming pool, massage therapy, great asados (BBQ's) around the fire at night, etc, etc.
Depending on the price you want to spend, I believe, that I can get you the appropriate tickets for the final on Dec. 5 in Palermo.
