- Just the other day, someone in one of the European legislations wrote me asked me what I thought of the idea of a monarchist party. Just the question a lone got me thinking on the whole thing, as had our discussion here. My answer to this question was that monarchy must remain neutral so that it cn remain a hedge against extremes and a split within a country. Perhaps nobllity is a glue to holds things together, a stable effect. Maybe that's why the new money marries into it. There is some staying power in the aristocracy.
You've gotten me thinking.

- I believe that it'll go on forever. Some modern progressives in Europe say titles are gone. Wrong they are. As ethics go down the tube, and runaway greed takes place - and adding in extremes - noble orders are gaining a role again. These are about helping the unfortunate and the poor. During our last 8 years in the US, and Europe's opposite trending - there is a reaction. The reaction is knowing the importance of stewardship and service all over again.

- I must admit that debs going for the titles cracks me up. But it's a part of a long history within America to somehow bind with the blue bloods. There's some historical meaning to it there, but I haven't placed a finger on it yet.

- Indeed European jet-setters are an interesting bunch. Over time, I have been able to see the various layers and factions within too. There's old tradition and then there are those into a form of elite spirituality similar to that in Hollywood. The dialog between the two at events can be interesting. I get a kick out of it for the most part.

- Hi Alistair,
ASW is very jet-setty, and has a European and international feel to it. It has a bit of product placement, but it's well done enough not to annoy. Decayenne has some great clubs in it that I like a lot. ASW is about connecting with people you know already, for the most part, and has no status bar or wall. I like both, but enjoy the clubs on Decayenne a lot.
