Greetings from Argentina!
Currently, during ramadhan everything is resting. Insya'Allah, your excellency Polo will commence right after Eid Mubarak that is if the weather is fair in Brunei Darussalam. Wassalam.
Great new pictures - i was fortunate enough to visit the OC President's Bodyguard while in Pindi, and have a look around the unit - fantastic step back into history.
You asked me to tell you when we're next up in the Northern Areas. Well, I can confirm that we will be taking a team up to play at Shandur Festival, and will be meeting in Pindi on 2 July to fly up to Gilgit together.
The team is very consists of a broad mix, ranging from myself to a PK Diplomat and a PK army colonel and includes British, South African & PK nationals, of different faiths. We're also awaiting confirmation from a 5-goal international player.
So, please join us if your schedule permits.
We would also be honored if you mention to HRH Prince Turki that 2 of the players (myself and H.E. Zaighum Uddin Azam) are Saudi residents and that, as we are organising the trip, the team will be playing as Jeddah.
We believe that it is vital, at this point in history, to demonstrate our faith in the country and our solidarity with the Northern Polo Association, who are struggling to keep the game alive, despite increasing economic hardships. And of course prove that a shared passion can overcome any demographic boundary.
Regards
Bruce
