In which country(s) are you based?
Pakistan
What's the name of your home Polo club?
Karachi Polo Club
Where's your club located?
The club is based in Karachi. Karachi is the largest city of Pakistan.
If applicable, what's the highest handicap you have held?
N/A
Where's your favourite Polo destination?
Shandur Polo Ground.
Shandur is situated at an altitude of 12,200 ft. and is the highest altitude polo ground in the word. Every year in the month of July there is polo festival at Shandur that invites visitors to experience a traditional polo tournament between the teams of Chitral and Gilgit. The festival also includes folk music, dancing and a camping village is set up for visitors. These tents are available on rental basis as well. Many locals and foreigners come to watch polo as it is a totally different type of polo.
The easiest way to reach Shandur is to go to Gilgit or Chitral by air by taking a flight from Islamabad (the capital city) of Pakistan. It takes a flight of 50 minutes to reach Gilgit or Chitral but you have to be very lucky if you get a flight as flights are frequently cancelled because of strong weather. Most of the people take the 'silk Route' i.e. by road (a very smooth road) but it takes a drive of 16 hrs to reach Gilgit. Whoever has once travelled by road can't stop him from praising the beautiful route as the whole route has matchless natural beauty. It has river, waterfalls and mountains. I myself have travelled by this route twice. You can check in my pics. I have placed an album of Shandur Polo photographs in my profile.
Where do you work and what's your role?
I was working for the first and only sports channel of Pakistn -Geo Super. I love sports and I like Boxing and Polo. Now I am working for the biggest record label of Pakistan - Fire Records. Both (the channel and the record label) are owned by the biggest media group of Pakistan. I am holding a managerial position and I am handling promotion and licensing of our releases.

Thank you for sharing some of the beauty of your country with us. It is much in the news these days and it is wonderful to see it from another perspective. Pakistan polo looks rougher than our US version. I do worry about injury to the horses.

Many thanks for the warm welcome. Much appreciated. No doubt we'll stay in touch. I have a great polo pro friend from Pakistan (based in Singapore; he's the resident pro at the club. His name is Sattar KHAN!!....5 goaler...cheap at half the price!). Stay in touch.
Hi
The new photos are absolutely breathtaking. The fall looks nasty... I've had one like that, they are no fun.
All is good here in California, the weather has finally gotten warm, 103, here today, but it's been in the 80's and 90's with some hail!! You can check out Lynn Bremner's article on www.polozone.com ... hail at El Dorado Polo club, La Quinta.
Polo is going strong at many of the California clubs.
Some of the players are in Paris playing and the rest are spread out all over the US for summer polo.
I like the winter season better, you are either in California or Florida.
Hope all is well, keep me posted on your events.
