On April 3rd, I was playing in a practice game here in San Pancho and a freakin horse kicked me in an attempt to get into a ride off. It was just in front as I was approaching. Completely shattered both bones in my right leg and I've been unable to walk for five months. I hope only one more month before I can get back to both legs. I've been to San Miguel although it's been a few years. I would love to come out and see you and maybe even give a hand. Let me know if you need me to bring my hammer [smile]

I don't have any actual experience starting a club, the one I currently manage already existed when I began and has a generous patron that provided the facilities that we use and maintain. I am looking into the possibility of creating a winter, indoor club here but am just starting out with that, and yes, there are challenges! I see that you have joined the Black Diamond Polo Club Group...I started a discussion there about Polo in these economic times...perhaps you could ask some questions there.

Thanks for the tip. I myself try and extend the period of time my horses go barefoot. I usually get them fit barefoot and when I begin stick and balling and playing light chukkas I usually only put front shoes on. When I start playing more competitive or tournament polo I usually put shoes on all four feet. With the type of turf and footing we have here, I find it gives me much more secure footing.

So, are you a member of this new club in Mexico? I hope everything is going well with that!

Polo in Calgary is practically on hold right now... it's really cold and icy, the temperature has been very erratic, melting one day, 16'c below zero the next, its a mess! Spring is on the way though so things are good. My story is primarily painting horses throughout the winter, summer brings travel/adventure- usually 2 shows a year, the rest in privately commissioned paintings - horses and polo only.
Thanks for the compliment on Arrow, he did work out well. FUN!
